The great city of San Francisco is hosting a variety of exciting public events to celebrate America's Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July.
Dazzling fireworks shows, parades and outdoor barbecues are popular icons of the holiday, along with carnivals, picnics, baseball games, and various other public events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring the United States of America's independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain.
Fourth of July Waterfront Festival
Bring the whole family and experience the Fourth of July at Fisherman's Wharf. Aquatic Park stage will showcase an afternoon of family entertainment. Great food, live music, kids' activities and family fun lead up to an amazing fireworks display.

San Francisco Dockside Fireworks Show
Watch the San Francisco fireworks from the best seat in the city - the deck of the SS Jeremiah O'Brien. Tickets are available only at the Jeremiah's box office on July 4th, on a first come, first served basis. SS Jeremiah O'Brien is a Liberty ship built during World War II and named for American Revolutionary War ship captain Jeremiah O'Brien (1744-1818). Now based in San Francisco, the O'Brien is the sole survivor of the 6,939-ship armada that stormed Normandy on D-Day, 1944.
