Q: Asthma inhalers?
i know this is in the wrong catagory, i did put it under the right one, but no one would answer. Asthma inhalers? I have bad asthma, it has been getting worse lately, my inhaler is starting to run out of medicine, i can't get a hold of a doctor or leave to go to a pharmacy, and i can't call the doctor or anyone because the phone doesn't work, i'll pick up the phone, and there will be nothing but static. So I was wondering if there is a way that i can get my asthma inhaler mailed to me, if there was maybe someone who i can email to get it mailed, i am scared and i don't want to run out of the medicine and not have another inhaler or not able to have a refill. Can anyone help me with some information on what i should do. thanks to those who do help.

A: Just go to the doctors office? If you can't do that and you need to help your asthma get a damp rag and a spray both and hold the rag over your mouth while you spray and inhale.

A: To echo the other comments, you need to see a doctor about it worsening, but if your inhaler is, as i suspect, albuterol, you can buy an over the counter inhaler as a short term alternative. This is called Primatene or Primatene Mist, which is an inhalable epinephrine. It is, just like albuterol, NOT for long term use. But in a pinch it will help. Again, see a doctor ASAP, and don't use the online pharmacies, anyone who gives out meds without a visit or appt is sketchy and likely is selling bogus meds. Asthma can end up being fatal if you don't get it under control.

Q: Asthma Inhalers ??
My friend took a couple of puffs 3 or 4 ..of a brown asthma inhaler (preventer) but she dosent have asthma and she dosent need an inhaler because she wanted to see what it would do, stupid i know, can this be dangerous?

A: I have asthma.....this can be very dangerous, because lots of asthma medications, inhalers increase your heart rate to help open the bronichal tubes.......I would suggest that she doesnt do it anymore

Q: Where would I find colored inhalers for Asthma?
I've seen blue and red and black and all kinds of colors for the regular asthma inhalers. I'm looking for the plastic peice that's usually white, but I'd like to get it in different colors for my son - I want to make his asthma just a little cooler. Any help would be great.

A: Check with the pharmacy where you get the prescriptions filled, or go on yahoo search and try that, I know they make all kinds of dragon faces and stuff for nebulizer masks....

Q: Five brief questions about asthma inhalers?
I have been diagnosed with mild asthma and I have to buy an inhaler to use in emergencies. 10 points if you can help me out here with general questions about inhalers: 1) How long until they start to work less effectively (expre)? 2) How many uses do they have until there are no more uses left? 3) How much do they usually cost? 4) Any bad side effects? 5) Any longterm health effects of using it only once in a while (in emergencies)? Thank you!

A: If you were prescribe albuterol 1. They work with 5-10 minutes 2. There are 200 puff in a canister so it depends how muchyou use it. 3. I spend about 8 dollars. It is cheaper than my co pay. 4. Some people get jittery but if that happens they can prescribe xopenex which is a little more expensive because it is not a generic 5. There are no long term side effects from taking it.

Q: How effective are asthma inhalers?
I've had asthma for over 10 years but I've never really used my inhalers because I didn't exercise much and when I did it wasn't vigorous exercise. I recently started going to the gym though and when running I get a really sore chest after about 15 minutes. I just want to know how much using my inhaler before running would help me. The only reason I have to stop is because of chest pains so would the inhaler help me exercise longer? Thanks

A: They are effective if used right and are not abused. Depending on what kinda of inhaler you have will alter how often you should be using it. i would consult your doctor.

Q: does anybody have any problems with those red environmentally friendly asthma inhalers?
I have asthma and they have come out with those red environmentally friendly inhalers and I have found that they don't really treat my asthma symptoms/attacks as well as the old ones do. anybody experiencing the same things I am?

A: sometime the propellant they use in the cfc free inhalers actually sets your chest off instead of relieving it. go back to your doctor and explain this. there are many type of inhalers out there, some are better suited to some people than others.

Q: Whats the difference with asthma inhalers ?
I have asthma. I used to take Flixotide and then I was told to stop taking it. Now my doctor has put me on Beclazone inhaler. Whats the difference between the two? Im just curious. Are they for different things or something ? Thanks Xx

A: They're both for asthma, one may have just been stronger(added steroids) than the other. Or he may have given you a preventer instead of a reliever. All in all it does the same job. :)

Q: can asthma inhalers make you gain weight?
I have always eaten and not gained any weight or not a considerable amount... but now that i have taken an inhaler more consistenly i have a spare tire around my waist. Could my asthma medication have something to do with it?

A: if your asthma inhalers is just straight salbutamol it definitely does not cause weight gain, however if you're on asthma medication that has any steroids it might cause weight gain, otherwise no. Keep in mind that overtime your metabolism starts to slow down and it simply could be that it may be time to change your food intake, trying cutting out some carbohydrates like bread, pasta and rice (this includes pizza) and eat more vegetables and lean meats like chicken, you could also try incorporating more cardio in your life. Goodluck to you!

Q: how can you control your asthma without inhalers?
i just found out that i have asthma and i dont know how to control it without the inhalers. and if you can how do you control it? any informations would be apperacation :) thanks! and I do smoke., so does my boyfriend. i tried to quit but hard for me plus hard for me to do exersicing since i am in wheelchair and cant jog and run like you guys

A: If you have perscribed inhalers you need to keep them to use when you have an attack. NOTHNIG can help you during an attack like a Doctor perscribed inhaler. Ask your doctor about some good Stop Smoking methods, there are pills you can take, patches, gum, etc. @ your local WalMart. They look expensive, but with ciggs going up $1 per pack recently, they are FAR cheaper than smoking. However here are things which help IN ADDITION TO your inhalers: Vacume regulary. Sweep regulary. Wash off ceiling & other fans at least twice a month. Wash all bed linnen at least once a week. Get a air filter/purifier for each room, set them close to the bed while sleeping, and the chair you are sitting in. Wash curtains & draperies at least once a week if you are in a dusty area, if not twice a month will suffice. Keep pet dander down by washing your pets once a week, and be sure to brush them daily. When you are cleaning out closets, vacuming, dusting, sweeping, gardening, grooming pets, etc. Use a dust mask on your face, they sell them cheap at Lowes, Home Depot, and WalMart in the handyman area of the store.

Q: If I have asthma inhalers and i can run fine should i take them?
My cardio is really good and i dont know if i should take them.

A: For Emergencies, the inhalers act as life-savers.But, not for daily usage. For ur asthma, bronchial asthma, u may safely try the following. I had complete cure in 3 months and no loss of gold et all on boiling. Copper/Silver/Gold and Iron charged water : It has been found that the following minerals are useful for treating diseases connected with the organs as follows : (1) Copper : Useful for all diseases and problems connected with the nervous system, e.g. high B.P., arthritis, polio, tension and leprosy. (1)Silver : Useful for the diseases of the organs connected with the digestive system and the urinary system. (3) Gold: Useful for the disorders of the breathing system, lungs, heart, brain and as a general tonic. It acts as an antibiotic. The charged water can be prepared as follows : (a) Copper charged water : Put 60 gm of pure copper plate/ingots/wire or six to eight copper coins in a vessel containing four glasses of water and boil it. (b ) Silver charged water : Put 30 to 60 gm of silver-pure bullion or pure coins (.999 purity) in a vessel containing four glasses of water and boil it. (Never use silver ornaments.) ( c ) Gold charged water : Put 15 to 30 gm of gold-pure bullion gold coin or ornaments (chain or bangles) of 20 - 22 carat gold in a vessel containing four glasses of water and boil it. (d) Iron charged water : (In case of deficiency of iron in blood, anaemia or during pregnancy) Put 60 gm of unrusted, not galvanised, piece of iron (nails, etc.) in a vessel containing four glasses of water and boil it. All these metals can be put together in water, in the proportion of gold 15 to 20 gm/silver 30 gm/copper 60 gm/Iron 60 gm. It should be borne in mind that all the metals put in the water are thoroughly cleaned and are not rusty. Use stainless steel, copper or pyrex glass vessels. Boil and reduce 25 % of the water, i.e. retain three out of four glasses of water after boiling. Filter this water, keep it in a thermos if possible and drink it lukewarm/hot during the day. Drinking one glass of this water the first thing in the morning is very beneficial. This water is a good tonic. When 4 glasses of water is reduced to 2 glasses, it gets medicinal value and is useful for all the types of serious and chronic diseases. In acute cases, this water may be boiled down to one glass or even half a glass. When you drink such concentrated water, avoid sour things like lemon, sour buttermilk, etc. This charged water is found useful for good health. And it is a must for the treatment of any problems connected with the improper flow of the current of Bioelectricity, i.e. high B.P., polio, rheumatism, arthritis, paralysis, chronic diseases including cancer, etc. The use of concentrated gold charged water has given wonderful results in the cases of mental retardation, muscular dystrophy, TB, heart attack, HIV/AIDS etc. and is a good brain tonic too. with best compliments from www.saioam.com

Q: How bad is it for non-asthmatics to use asthma inhalers?
also what makes non-asthmatics use those inhalers as long as theyr'not sick?????? I'm already asthmatic.but my friends always ask to use mine that's why I asked. and I'm not idiot!!!!!

A: It is very bad for them. It speeds up the heart and causes the blood pressure to go up and that overworks the heart.

Q: Anyone having significant weight gain and appetite increase taking asthma inhalers?
I use Pro-Air and Q-Var daily and have for over a year. My weight and appetite have gone bonkers in the last year.

A: In normal doses inhaled steroids are not absorbed much and are quite safe. Very minute amount is absorbed in systemic circulation. Very high doses can be absorbed. Try to have the minimum effective dose to decrease absorption.

Q: How did Asthma Inhalers impacted upon human society, in both positive and negative ways?
Please help =) URGENT.

A: Asthma inhailers really imapct of the survival rate of sufferes. THEY are able to administer their own medication per required need. THIS HAS SAVED MANY MANY LIVES. the negative thing is that people being poeple abuse what they are given. OVER DOSING on thier puffers will cause them discomfort. Mostly causing them to tremble and become faint.

Q: Do steroids used in inhalers for asthma do tissue damage?
I have always heard that steroid use should be limited because they actually "change" tissue somehow making it weaker and more susceptible to future damage. Is this the case for steroids used in inhalers for chronic asthma? Might someone develop other problems or become dependent on them over time due to tissue damage they cause themselves? I should have said "become increasingly more dependent...."

A: No because the dose of steroids is low, side-effects are unusual. Corticosteroids or glucocorticoids, often just called "steroids", are drugs closely related to cortisol, a hormone which is naturally produced in the adrenal cortex (the outer layer of the adrenal gland). Corticosteroids act on the immune system by blocking the production of substances that trigger allergic and inflammatory actions, such as prostaglandins. Some common examples of steroids are: Vitamin D holestrol estrogen cortisone. But abuse of anabolic steroids can lead to serious health problems, some of which are irreversible. Major side effects can include liver tumors cancer jaundice high blood pressure kidney tumors severe acne trembling and usually weakening tendons and ligaments as well.
