Q: Eye allergies?
Does any one have any home remedies for eye allergies, especially if you wear contacts?

A: I can't find anything in my natural rememdy book to use on your eyes. I use an eye drop pretty often for my allergies along with Benedryl capsules. I sometimes use Alvert sinus and allergy caps also and they are great but more expensive. They never make me drowsy or jittery. I have chronic allergies and sinus which has led to ear problems. Take care of yours. Sometimes you can take the allergy shots for a short while and be helped. Sometimes it is just the dust and mold in your home that you don't realize is there. Clean out your bedroom completely and then clean it with water and an antibacterial cleaner or use bleach and water on the baseboards and woodwork, windows and sills, and make sur to clean top, bottom, and sides and underneath everything. Wash all bedding and curtains and shampoo the carpet and any upholster furniture. Then clean all of the small things before bringing them back into your room. Do the closet also! Most people never clean the closet with water and cleaners and the dust, mites, and mold just grows and gets in your clothing. You will be able to breathe much better, I promise! It may take a whole day to do a good job at first to get the room in good shape but after that you can do parts of it weekly to keep it clear of allergy problems. Just keeping the bedroom cleaner will help. You are probably clean but to avoid allergies which keep you stressed and weak which causes you to catch other illnesses it is best to do the super cleaning job often! Best wishes!

Q: eye allergies?
If a dog gets eye allergies from roaming to much in the tall grass, is that genetic or what?

A: No.

Q: Eye Allergies?
My problem started just this year. My eyes are fine when I wake up, but during the day they start to blur. They do not itch, but they do get crusty in the corners, which I am constantly clearing out all through the day. My eye Dr. said that I have allergies in the whites of my eyes, and told me to use Zaditor. However, it isn't working for me. Are there any other suggestions? Oh, and this only happens when I am at home. I am not sure if it is my house or my neighborhood. At my sisters, I am fine.

A: Start taking a teaspoon of LOCAL honey each day-you are allergic to mold, pollen, dust, mildew or pet dander. Your body will develop immunities to these things and you will gradually become better. The longer you take the local honey, the healthier you will become. It is a natural immunity booster. Rinse your eyes with with a good eye wash several times a day until the honey takes effect.

Q: How can I treat eye allergies without taking drugs all the time?
I have horrible eye allergies, and mostly in my right eye. I have tried nasal sprays, prescription eye drops and oral allergy meds and nothing seems to help. Any advise??

A: Try drinking mangosteen juice.

Q: What is the difference between the symptoms of pink eye and those of eye allergies?
I went to the doctor a week ago and was diagnosed with pink eye. Because the medicine wasn't working (for pink eye), they now say i have eye allergies.

A: pink eye you will need to use antibiotic to cure it but the allergies is more easy to cure it with just water and salt for clearing the airway between the nose and the mouth with antihistamine medicines

Q: What are some natural ways to combat eye allergies?
I don't like taking medication, especially now that they are having all these class action lawsuits about these new drugs. What are some natural ways to relieve eye itching, sensitivity, and redness? It sucks so bad to be allergic to things God created in nature. I wish I never had allergies! Ugh! :(

A: get two rags, one with cold water and one with warm/hot water. alternate between them on your eyes, the warm rag will draw the gunk out of your eyes and the cold rag will relieve the swelling. the water in both rags will help to wash the allergens out of your eyes.

Q: What are some symptoms of severe eye allergies?
What are some symptoms of severe eye allergies? or some results of severe eye allergies? Anything from contacts to redness; and I already know Conjunctivitis... If you can name some symptoms of allergies such as Conjunctivitis that would be very good.

A: It's not that your eyes have allergies, you have allergies and your reaction to them affect your eyes. Most people experience dryness, they feel hot, excessive exudate (puss or "sleep"), a feeling that you have sand in them, reduction of or inability to produce tears and blurriness or feeling that there is a "film" on them, watering (like you're crying when you're not), puffiness and "bags" under your eyes. A lot of people who have "hayfever" or seasonal allergies to pollens experience this quite frequently. If you have allergies and it is affecting your eyes in such a manner, you shouldn't wear contact lenses as they can dry out your eyes further and exacerbate your symptoms. Some people have reported an allergy to contact lenses. Talk to your doctor or make an appointment with an allergist. They can give you some great eye drops like Patanol (tm) which is by prescription only and also evaluate you for other allergy symptoms and/or test you to find out the culprit(s). Hope this helps. Good luck to you!

Q: What to do about wearing contacts while suffering from eye allergies?
Whenever I try to put my contacts in in the morning, they either cloud up or won't go in due to excessive slime in my eyes. If I manage to wipe the slime out, my eyes look very red for the rest of the day. I know this is caused by eye allergies (though I haven't been tested for allergies) as I've had this problem since I got contacts three years ago. (and I can't think of anything else that would cause this) Is there any sort of eye drops that help with this? I've tried several allergy medicines (benadryl, claritin, even prescription clarinex, and some generic brands) and none have helped so far. I dislike glasses (partly out of vanity, I'll admit) and right now I can't afford to buy glasses in my eye prescription anyways. Anything I can do? it's taken me up to half an hour to get my contacts in before, and I'm getting irritated.

A: Let's see....you haven't been diagnosed by a doctor, yet you "think" your problem is related to allergies. But the problem began when you first started wearing contacts. Your first mistake is "thinking". You have no idea what the cause is and can only guess until properly confirmed by a doctor. This mistake can lead to serious eye problems or blindness if you continue. Second of all, are you sleeping with your contact in? That's mistake number two. Though some manufacturers indicates it's ok to sleep with contact in, it can cause problems with the cornea. Third of all, if the problem began when you started wearing contacts, then stop wearing contacts. Get over your vanity and be more concerned with your health. That's the problem in today's society. People are willing to skimp on their health to look good for others. That's pathetic. But you can look on the bright side, if you go blind, you won't have to worry about either. All this frustration and work to look good. Ask yourself one question..is it worth it? If so, then you wouldn't be here asking this question, therefore, it isn't worth it. Get to a doctor who can eith find the right prescription contacts for you or get over the ego and go back to glasses.

Also any tips like cleaning my room till theres no dust and dirt also i have a dog and he sleeps in my room could this be making it worse. Im not allergic to my dog i know that.

Q: My eyes get red from contacts because i have eye allergies?
What should i do to help reduce my eyes from getting red because of the eye allergies and the contacts? I already take antihistamine pills and drops but not much help. I already wear glasses like 90% of the time but there are still times where i want to wear contacts. I have allergies year round =(.

A: there is not much that you can do. all i can say is just wash out your eyes every so often and keep washing the contacts with a saline solution to insure that none of the allergens are still on them. See what can happen is when a person has allergies, the alergens can get on the back of the contacts, the part that touches the eye, and will continually irrate the all for as long as the contacts are in contact with the eyes. you also could ask your doctor about a stronger type of anti-histamine to help fight off the allergies.

Q: Which doctor should I go to for eye allergies?
Well I have itchy, red, swelling eyes and I am almost sure that I have allergies but I need a professionals' opinion. So should I go to a family doctor, an optometrist, or a walk in clinic? Thanks!

A: you can go to a family doctor and he will tell you what you have or recommend some optometrist

Q: How can I treat my cat's Eye Allergies?

A: what was your vets recommendation?

Q: what can I do about my eye allergies during spring?
What medicine works best for itchy, allergy eyes? I really need help, this has been going on for 2 years. It just appered one day! I use eyedrops 4 times a day, and it still doesn't work. I DO NOT wear contacts at all. Please help! Thanks.

A: They have over the counter eye drops with antihistamine. Have you used these already? I used to have your problem but when my doctor prescribed FLONASE for my stuffy allergic nose, somehow my eye allergies disappeared also. But remember, the box says DO NOT GET FLONASE IN YOUR EYES. I think maybe when I used the flonase, then everything was able to drain better, even my eyes.
